First let me say this, i am so pleased to see such clear water back in the Ria. I have fished these waters now for 4 years, and last year I was so shocked to see from December thru March, the water was dirty and cloudy and the fishing sucked! I was turning down tours because I just did not want to takes folks money when I knew the bite was dead. This was due to an abnormal increase in rain fall the late summer before that, as all our water runs underground, it pops up via springs in the mangroves and Ria area. Like hundreds of them all throughout the area we fish. In fact the first place I always take folks is to the above ground spring that we can get out and walk around, set inside the mangroves, it is a magical spot.

So here it is January 4th, and the past 5 weeks we have had either family, friends or clients out for a days fishing and it every time has been a blast. The fish biting crazy right now, are the speckled sea trout. This time of the year is when the big giant ones come in and the bite on top water is awesome when they attact. Snook, and tarpon, well the tarpon will return in April when they follow the sardines into the Ria for spawning and normally remain throughout the summer into the late fall. The snook are always there but a bit spooky, experienced fisherman tho will have a chance a catching one.

If you are visiting via a cruise ship or staying in the area or just living here and you want to go have some fun, in a beautiful space......Then gives us a hollar. Happy New Year to all....
