Howdy fishing friends! We always take for granted, us able bodied fisher people, but many folks that are handicapped love to fish as well...This story is about my beautiful and amazing wife, Jennifer...Jen has Muscular Dystrophy, is in a wheel chair, does not walk, and very little strength to move around...she does tho move around easily in her assist wheel chair, a non push chair that when she touches the wheels it goes! Also she has a custom built 3 wheel moto she gets around town on and a unique Honda van that was adapted to her when hand controls...

But Jen still loves to fish...so, we made it easy on me, instead of lifting her into the boat...we devised a dolly with a seat, so I lower her into the boat, then transfer her to her fishing chair..super safe and no back pain for me..Jen still tho can not cast, so she simply hangs the lure over the boat side and drifts along with the current...She has the strength to hold the rod and has proved she can handle so far 20 pound tarpon...YES, I said TARPON..She has hooked 4 to date, the first huge and after the first jump spat the lure...but over the last 10 days, she has hooked, fought and landed 2 TARPON 15 pound range..It was such a beautiful thing to witness i have to admit...She is hooked indeed...You can watch her videos on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLpMpy9q7Dc&t=3s. It is very very inspiring to watch!
